Plain definitions for terms used across the Thailand companion industry
An A–Z reference for terminology you'll see on Hot Thai Girls and across the wider Thai escort and nightlife industry. Definitions are practical and non-explicit — purely informational.
Terms
- Advertiser
- An independent person who posts a listing on the directory. The directory is not an agency — every advertiser controls their own profile, photos, and pricing.
- Agency
- A third-party entity that manages multiple companions, schedules meetings and takes a fee. Hot Thai Girls is not an agency. All directory listings are independent.
- Bar fine
- A fee paid to a go-go bar or beer bar when a freelancer leaves with a customer during her shift. Bar fines apply only inside venues — they do not apply to directory listings, where contact is direct between two parties.
- Boom-boom
- Slang sometimes used in tourist-heavy areas. Hot Thai Girls does not host explicit content; descriptions on listings are time-based and non-explicit.
- Companion
- A general term for a person paid for time, conversation, and presence at a social engagement. Most directory listings are framed as companion-style listings.
- Freelancer
- An independent advertiser who is not affiliated with a venue or agency. Most Hot Thai Girls listings are freelancers.
- GFE
- Girlfriend Experience. A meeting style emphasising affectionate, conversational interaction over transactional pacing. Listings sometimes describe themselves as GFE.
- Incall
- A meeting that takes place at the advertiser's location (their condo, apartment, or studio). Contrast with outcall.
- Kathoey
- Thai everyday term for a transgender woman or feminine gay man. Often translated as 'ladyboy'. The directory uses the self-identification chosen by each advertiser.
- Ladyboy
- Common English/tourist term for kathoey. Both terms are widely used in Thailand and in Hot Thai Girls listings.
- Long-time
- Industry shorthand for an extended meeting — usually overnight or 8+ hours. Pricing structures often distinguish short-time vs long-time.
- Outcall
- A meeting where the advertiser travels to your location (usually a hotel). Most Bangkok and Pattaya listings prefer outcall to a 4 or 5-star hotel with reception.
- Premium listing
- A paid placement on Hot Thai Girls that appears higher in search and category pages. Premium does not mean verified or screened — it's a promotion tier only.
- Short-time
- A short meeting — typically 1 to 2 hours. The most common pricing model in Pattaya and Patong; less common in Chiang Mai.
- Soi
- Thai for 'side street'. Most Bangkok addresses include a soi number (Sukhumvit Soi 11, Soi 4, etc.). Soi numbers identify the exact location with high precision.
- TG / TS
- Abbreviations for transgender / transsexual, used interchangeably with kathoey or ladyboy depending on the listing's preferred terminology.
- Tourist Police
- Thailand's English-speaking police division for foreign visitors. Reachable 24/7 on 1155. The first point of contact in any safety incident.
- Verified profile
- A listing whose author has submitted ID and a real-time photo to the moderation team. Verification is voluntary and confirms identity only — it does not endorse the advertiser.
